I went on a fantastic trip to Costa Rica in January, and have just finished editing the photos.
Here are some of the better ones (I also have a lot which would easily qualify for the "Bad pics of fab wildlife" thread)
Yes please SC!

Hi All,
Thanks for the feedback - will sort out some mammal & reptile pics shortly.
I have found Stuart's photos from his trips in 2013 and 2014 by doing a site search on Costa Rica - some good ones in there, especially of the Quetzal
Like Stuart, I didn't go with a specialist wildlife operator - it was a "wildlife oriented" tour with Explore - this one
Reptiles
This is something mentioned by Stuart. Taken in poor lighting, this is the reason why we were advised not to hold on to tree stems while walking around reserves. It's an eyelash viper; this yellow morph is also known as an Oropel
They are quite small - maybe 2 feet long, and come in a variety of colours, the same tree had a greenish grey one which looked like a patch of lichen, and we also saw the "Christmas tree" variant (red & green pattern) on a night walk.
One of the Iguanas which lived in the lodge grounds at Tortuguero
A Ctenosaur - this little chap (about 3 ft including his tail) lived around the pool at our Pacific coast hotel
American Crocodile on the Rio Tarcoles - one of the big ones, maybe 10-12 feet
Fabulous reptiles SC, not too sure about Croc though!!
Nice Ctenosaur :-) We had an iguana at our hotel on the Pacific Coast that would come and beg for food at lunchtime. It obviously hadn't read that iguanas are veggies because it spurned the lettuce and ate the chicken. Poor crocs, they just can't help looking evil - it's the smile (oh, and the teeth).
"Let loose the Kraken!"
& the bone-crunching jaw 'snap' SV!!! Lol
I quite like reptiles and at least they don't move about as much as birds. Nice shots, Sue. They all look pretty relaxed.
I remember the Golden Tegu lizards at the Asa Wright centre in Trinidad. You practically had to step over them as they were totally used to humans. They had the right of way on the paths.
