Hello everyone,
some of you were interested in seing some more of my photos, that were taken during my Holidays in Alaska and Yukon / Canada in June, so here they are. I do not only have wildlife-pictures, but also landscapes. I hope that does not matter too much. Our guide in Denali-Nationalpark told us a trick how to get good looks at wildlife, for example the moose and the bears beside the road: Stay inside your car (also for safety), don't approach the animal. If you go near the animal, it will usually go away, but if you stay where you are, it will act calmly and maybe come very close. And you should switch off all arteficial sounds on your cameras, so the animals don't get used to it or take it as a sign to go away. We had really good encounters with animals by following this rules. I think I will post the photos in at least two batches, the landscapes first, in order to make you more curious ;) So have fun!

I hope you enjoyed my Alaska- and Canada-Pictures. It was a wonderful journey and we were really lucky with all the animals we have seen and also with the weather! Most of the time weather was great, although the fotos don't look like it. I did not drive myself, it was a guided journey and the group was very small, only 8 people. We had much fun. There were also two young women from Swizzerland in my group. Can you imagine that the whole group took one picture after the other of mountains? As if we had never seen a mountain! Thank Post you for being interested in my pictures.
Kind regards, Bente
Hi Bente. Brilliant photos. They are all very beautiful and really show off your holiday adventures very well. I have lots of favourites but especially like the Glacier, the Porcupine and the Humpbacks. You should really get out with your camera more often. I very much enjoyed looking at your photos and reading your comments.

My bird photos HERE
Bente, these are all stunning! Impossible to name a favourite but I love the orca, the bear, the bald eagle.......I could go on and on.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Wow, wow, wow.....! lovely shots Bente! Very excited now. Almost spilt my herbal tea over my keyboard when I saw the whale shots. Am going to forward link to this page to my OH, who also uses the forum from time to time.
Stunning landscapes, Bente. One of the last wildernesses left in the world. Fabulous to see a glacier close-up.
Great shots of the wildlife too. How wonderful to see the bears and the Orcas. The shot of the Porcupine peeking out from the vegetation made me smile.
It must have been a wonderful trip.

Brilliant photographs! Makes me think back to my Canada holiday this year, but this takes it to another level! Even more wilderness and great job seeing some of the top wildlife there!
Fabulous photos, lovely to see this part of the world. The porcupine is gorgeous :)
The ptarmigan looks like a Willow Ptarmigan (known as Willow Grouse in Europe). I think they do also have Rock and White-tailed Ptarmigans in Alaska.
