Hi- for all you Lumix users out there- try the sports setting
S
.
For advice about Birding, Identification, field guides, binoculars, scopes, tripods, etc - put 'Birding Tips' into the search box
Lovely set of photos Seymouraves- I have a Lumix that I use when I don't want to lug heavy lenses, and I find it's zoom perfect for photographing garden birds. Not thought of using on the sports setting though - have to give it a try going by your results! Thanks for the tip. What's the first bird ?
Jayne.

Looks like it works well, S. Really good photos. Are going to ID them for us?
First one looks like a Nighthawk of some sort. Second one looks like a Caspian Tern but probably isn't. Third one I'd guess is one of their hawks but I've no idea which.

Red tailed hawk juv.
Hi S,
Probably being a bit silly but isn't the raptor a Juv Broad winged? The patterns, shape and amount of fingers suggest this more to me :-)
Yup- you''re right- no patagials- serves me right for loading early in the morning
:))
Great photos Seymour - expecially the tern.
