Egypt - September, 2003.Weather: Very hot, as expected.
As Egypt is currently gracing our screens, I thought I would go through my trip photos of my visit there and post them up here. I hope you don't mind. I also hope the situation remains calm and that they can resolve the issues peacefully.
I travelled to Egypt with 5 other people plus a Tour Leader and a local expert guide. We visited all the usual places, including Cairo, the Sphinx and Pyramids, Cairo Museum; Abu Simbel; Valley of the Kings and the temples of Luxor, Thebes and Karnak. We travelled around mainly by a small coach but also by dhow. A wonderful country, full of history, I could have spent a lot longer there.
I created a little Website and more photos can be found here.

Unfortunately, my camera failed me on the first day. Bad batteries. So I failed in my only attempt to photograph the 3 main Pyramids and the Sphinx. But there were plenty of other places and opportunities.
I hope it has given you a taste of this wonderful country.
Best wishes, Graham

Hi Graham
You certainly have got around in your time, more great photos and it must taken you ages to find the appropriate quote to match the picture, keep them coming mate I have not travelled at all outside of the UK so its great seeing these.

I agree with Graham, Egypt is a wonderful country and a must to see, even just the once.
I was there in 2008, when I visited Cairo and Luxor, however it was a just a day in each place so we were flying around seeing the sights.
As far as the bird life was concerned, that was not high on the agenda and as a consequence, I have no recollections of seeing any at all, well maybe the odd egret on the Nile.
Nice photos Graham.
My goal is to photograph every type of British bird.
You are well travelled Graham and that is something you are have been lucky to do
What fabulous photos and your reports are excellent and informative too
It just shows that is lots to see in our beautiful world that we live in. Life is full of wonders and there are for us to see and enjoy
It is putting me in a Menorca mood at the moment - sun, sand, sea and boats, not to forget the colourful Bee-eaters {big smile}

Gosh!! Where have you not been, Mr C?
Fabulous photos and very evocative.
Such a shame there is so much trouble in Egypt at the moment, although it is people led, which is a good thing.

Thanks All.
It's nice to see that everything seems to have worked out over there ok. Lets hope for a smooth transition.....
Cheers, Graham
Sounds promising anyway and the Middle East Peace Process looks like it's still on track.
Thanks for posting this thread, Graham.

Thank you Graham for bringing back some wonderful memories of Egypt, where we have spent several holidays over the years. Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and places in between. It's an amazing country, full of lovely people and I can't wait for our next visit.
What a bummer about your camera batteries though.
Cheers, Linda.

You have brought back some wonderful memories of our trip to Egypt 13 years ago. You have taken some lovely photos, thanks for sharing. We went to Luxor, Cairo, Hurgada, Aswan and Abu Simbel what an experience it was and the best holiday I have ever had. It is a lovely country and a hot one too. Sorry about your batteries.
