A few pics from the end of August, start of September - just moving into migration season...

and with a bee. (Very early in the morning, so the light was poor).

Great holiday - mostly hiking, but a good bit of birding too. Ones that got away from the camera included Golden Oriole, Night Heron, Kingfishers, Icterine Warbler, Golden Eagle (well, a poor ID shot) and the usually elusive Sardinian Warblers - curse them ;-)

Fantastic photos, I wish I'd taken an interest in bird watching back in the 60's when I was living on Crete, you have made me gasp with horror at what I missed.
Lot to learn
But we must be allowed to lament Doggie:-) it wouldn't be the same if we didn't moan now and again.
I must admit that I stopped birding between my teens and my forties - it was only when stuck in the US on business at weekends that I started again - and realised how much I'd missed as well :-(

sadly many people who started birding early let it slip- it's not cool, there are no girls, some watch football on a saturday instead. It happened to mates of mine.
