I have just spent 17 nights in South Africa and am already planning my return. It is an awesome place. Here are a few of my holiday snaps.
Groundscraper Thrush
Dark-capped Bulbul
Pied Kingfisher
Burchells's Starling
Lilac Breasted Roller
Go away Bird
Magpie Shrike
Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill
Klaas's Cockoo
There are plenty more and of course other animals but don't want to bore you with them all.
I had so much to see but all holiday I kept thinking about Rocky my hard little Chaffinch and hope he's still about when I get back to my Tin Villa xx
Shelley
Great pics - please add more. I've just chucked some extras in my South Africa entry as well.
"Let loose the Kraken!"
Terrific photos, Shelley. It's always good to see wildlife from exotic locations, so more please. No wonder you want to go back there.

Well you asked for them guys
2 for the price of 1 Buffalo and Oxpecker
These were my pride and joy, they were so far away you couldn't hardly see them with the naked eye. My 70-200mm F2.8 with x2 extender got them.
more to follow
Smashing photos Shelley, thanks for sharing them

Hi John I used a Canon 600d and a 7d one had my 70-200mm with x2 extender and the other had 18-135mm on.
Here's some more
Great photos Shelly
I have the 50d.Do you find a lot of difference with the 7d .I am wondering to upgrade but I dont think I would use the video. The 7d has got a very good write up
I do find it a lot different to my 600d, to be truthful John am only just getting to grip with it as not had it long but I do like it and there is so much more you can do with it once you know how. I haven't used the video either.
