I've a T-Mount adapter for my camera which I use to attach it to my telescope,Took this pic tonight , one of the better ones as I don't have live view and have to focus through the eyepiece and normally they come out blurred LolI I use the timer on the camera to reduce shake as much as possible.
this is re-sized and a touch of contrast added
this is another shot but cropped and contrast adjusted
because I can't control aperture I have no control over depth of field (tho' at that distance would it make a difference?)

cheers Terry
my photo's here
Thanks Alan, nice bit of info on that page, will try it out sometime.
Nice captures, Terry, what make and model of the telescope is it, Terry!
To much light pollution here for taking pictures of the moon tonight :(

Your telescope will have an F/ratio, Terry, mine is F/8 so my set-up will take pictures at F/8 unless I add anything else like a converter.
Hi James, sorry about the delayed reply, went to bed early Lol. Anyway,my telescope is a Bresser Skylux 70/700 refractor, very cheap from aldi a couple of years ago not the best optics in the world but adequate for my needs at the moment. I did use the camera with the star diagonal but it's a bit flimsy for the weight so now stick it straight into the focussing tube (which puts everything in the correct orientation, sorted)
No probs, Terry, found a telescope similar to yours made by the same manufacture a Bresser 70/700 refractor and was a F/10 aperture so yours will be around this too so a good depth of field even for the moon.
With retiring this year I though I would get myself a telescope too, sadly I have not used it a lot but now winter is near we should get some very clear nights so I will be out there too taking pictures of the heavens :)
You'll be a waxing gibbous in a day or two Terry!:-)

Thanks for the warning John, I'll have to chain myself up in the coalshed Lol
Birdie, I love star gazing, but why is it always best in the winter lol
Hi Terry. Cracking photos. Have never had much luck photographing the moon but thought you might like to see a photo I managed to get earlier this year of Jupiter and some of her moons. Taken with Sigma 170-500mm.

Paul that is amazing, was it just with the lens on the camera? I've often observed Jupiter through my 'scope and seen up to 5 moons but never tried using the camera with it,will give it a go next time.
Hi Terry. Taken just with camera and lens. I think it's just a bit of experimenting. As you'll probably already know, too long an exposure and you'll get star trails and light bleeding in from street lights.. The image was cropped severely and tweaked a bit in regards to levels but It really wasn't too complicated at all. I think if you were to try it with the scope you could get some pretty spectacular results. Look forward to seeing the pictures when you do.
