I'll be heading back to Orkney this time next week and I can't wait! Already sent an e-mail to arrange to go to some of the events that are on offer from the RSPB and I'm looking forward to seeing some of the lovely wildlife there. First went to Orkney last August and it was brilliant, wildlife for me and archeology for my OH! It's the perfect place that suits us both!
I particularly like the Bonxies and I'm looking forward to seeing them, and the arctic skuas, and the hen harriers (never seen so many before in my life!). I'd really like to see a merlin too, any tips of good places to look for them?
