Mike, here is the intro. Thanks. Karen
Last season Maya, the resident Manton Bay female, surprised us arriving back 12 March the earliest date ever recorded at a UK public nest. The resident male, Blue 33(11), her mate since 2015, arrived two days later on 14 March and the pair successfully raised two healthy chicks. More details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Here’s wishing Maya and Blue 33 a safe journey home and for another successful season.

Looking around and patiently waiting, still blowing a hoolie!
What a faff this, making a false post, then going back and adding the photos and text!
Only learned short ago I could take photos from live streams on ipad and post. Trying this out as well as this faff with resizing!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Valerie D said:Rutland have posted this message - Had a few queries coming in about the webcams: the bottom camera is working fine but I've been keeping an eye on the top one and it doesn't seem to be streaming. We can get the feed in the visitor's centre though so the camera is working. Will try and get this resolved asap! Thanks for your patience everyone!
Thanks so much for passing that on, VALERIE - but they don't realise that the bottom cam is not working fine, it freezes for long periods. Trouble is, if one loads the cam afresh then the bottom cam will be "active", so anyone checking on it momentarily won't realise there's a problem.
Never mind, we're all doing our best ;)
Just to commemorate Maya's long wait today - here's hoping she won't have many, if any, more like it :-*
(Lots of tail-waggling at one stage.)
