Mike, here is the intro. Thanks. Karen
Last season Maya, the resident Manton Bay female, surprised us arriving back 12 March the earliest date ever recorded at a UK public nest. The resident male, Blue 33(11), her mate since 2015, arrived two days later on 14 March and the pair successfully raised two healthy chicks. More details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Here’s wishing Maya and Blue 33 a safe journey home and for another successful season.

Birdies LG DU update.
Drama, but I don't know how to do a video, needing to get the best of both cams :-/
EDIT - No third party seen, so don't know what that was all about.
As I type, the returned goose, who had been sitting down, got up and seem to protest in the direction of the perch but now it's sitting down again.
There is a white splodge in the left-hand nestcup, and I did think that that goose was behaving eggily earlier...
The bottom cam is now frozen.
IMAGICAT
CORMORANT
one handed work here
There's been a lot of freezing this morning - the cormorant left during the one above, then an EG turned up and similarly got frozen and disappeared. Empty nest right now (not frozen, the "sea" is moving ;) )
Edit - ah, but the bottom cam is frozen :( The cam needs a boot up its whatsit.
They were sitting side by side, facing left, then suddenly there was interest aroused:
Came to nothing, now they're down again... but on their marks ;)
