I have never seen a puffin.

I was not sure where to post this so I hope this is OK

I am very excited because we are going away for a long weekend tomorrow, to Northumbria. We have booked a cottage in Seahouses and plan to visit the Farne Islands so I hope to see loads of Puffins and other wildlife. I am taking my camera, of course, so will post any good photos on my return.

Has anyone been to the Farne Islands? I would love to hear of your experiences.

I must go and clean all my bird feeders and refill them, put loads of nuts around the garden for the badger and clean out the tadpoles tank and boil some lettuce for them! Then I can start getting our stuff ready.

P.S. I really haven't ever seen a Puffin...........................................................................................yet!

Kind regards Jane.

  • Thank you Kezmo.

I thought I was the only person left in Britain who had never seen a puffin! :-)

I will certainly post some photos when I get back. Thank you very much for your good wishes,

    Kind regards Jane.

You can add me to the list as well!

    Enjoy ...

    Cheers, Linda.

  • For Marjus' benefit (and anyone else heading for Mull this summer) - bend every effort to go out on one of the small boats to land on Staffa. Puffins alone are nice, but puffins combined with the basalt columns of Fingal's Cave, Clamshell Cave, the Herdsman and the other geological features of the island are without doubt one of the seven natural wonders of the British Isles!

  • Hi Jeff

You'll have a cracking time up here. Get wrapped up tho mate. Was fortunate enough today to be back out on the road and called into South Stack on Anglesey. Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills, Fulmars, Gulls galore, Choughs, Wheatears, Stonechats + Linnets spotted within a 25 minute wander. Off to Glaslyn then and spent an hour with the Ospreys. Great day in all.
