A week of fine weather has enabled me to get out and about again.
Visited Rye Meads on Tuesday and Fisher's Green in the Lee Valley today.
Amongst the many things seen were:
Kingfisher; Kestrel; 2xBlackcaps; 2xReed Buntings; 2xShelduck; 2xGadwall; Grassnake; Grey Heron; Bluies, Greats and Long-Tailed Tits; Peacock - Small White - Comma Butterflies; Black Swan; 2xMuntjacs.
Also, today, tried to discover the 'Orchid Discovery Trail' but discovered that the Orchids are not due til late May to mid July. Also discovered that I was on the wrong trail. Glad I didn't choose a Detective Agency career :)
Personal note: must clean spectacles before leaving home.
Planned for next week: (dependent on weather) either a local walk here in Sawbridgeworth along the River Stort or another trip to Rye Meads and then a visit to London Zoo to see their new Rainforest Life exhibit.
A few photos from this week:
Blackcap
Black Swan
Chiffchaff

Hi Buzzard,
Thanks for the link - just logged in via my BTO details and have input the data for the Black Swan plus the Egyptian Goose I saw the week before.
I knew about the Site but my poor memory these days has again let me down. I have now added it to my Faves......if I can remember to click on their link I will add more..... 8-)
Now that I have a bit of time on my hands since escaping from 'The City' together with the good weather I will try to visit at least 2 areas a week......and hopefully get some photos. Or snaps as I call them. I will try and add the decent ones to the site together with a write-up. God, I'm feeling the pressure already!
Cheers, Graham
Lovely pics Graham and sounds like great outings too!
