I saw this bird swoop and land on my neighbours fence and quickly took a few snaps - could help identify it please? It was different shades of brown, lighter on the front with claws hooking on to the fence, which makes me think it was some kind of bird of prey?! The tail was quite long with a stripy pattern. Beak is straight. Sorry the photos aren't great but am glad I caught something. Thanks very much!
Hello CBee, It's a Sparrowhawk so all your garden birds will be taking cover as you are right and it is a bird of prey ! they visit gardens regularly if there are feeders around in the hope of snatching a bird
