Hi all, This might not be the right thread for this post, please move if that is the case. Could anyone advise what bird my below picture is? And also any advice what could be wrong with him/her?They are eating ok but look to have a damaged foot. Not flying just hopping on one foot. Also seems to be missing tail feather. When hopping falls to one side and puts its wing out. Could this be a broken wing? Or balance because of the tail feather?I have no clue. Do tail feather grow back?Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Gem, it is a young Blackbird which looks to have sustained an injury to it's right foot, maybe an escape from cat attack if it has lost tail feathers too, hopefully these will regrow after first moult! It would be very stressful to try to catch the bird, many manage perfectly well with such an injury ... if you want further advice then try to find a rescue centre in your area here ...
