The pair showed up on 13th March & were checking out the nest - here's hoping..............
Have posted all I've taken today, unedited, as I'm so excited!!! They both flew off & now Mr Kestrel has returned to nest & sitting, waiting like a spider in the middle of a web! Just going to video him
2013 photos & vids here

Hi Scylla - how are you - glad you found my thread and they are definitely both males, hence the fighting, but I just didn't notice at the time - put it down to excitement at getting the vids (& my age, of course LOL)!!!!!
Nothing much to report except been rainy & windy & cold so not very conducive to mating & nesting!!
I took this pic of the nest this morning as I realised that, in certain lights, I could see in it to the back & what looks like a dogleg to the right - could be useful to spy on female when she is in there!!
Not very good resolution so hope you can see what I can..............
The Kestrels are still around though - have seen them flying over to hunt for food - will try for some hover shots when weather improves!
Hi Wendy, it was same here today except it didn't rain; started off bright and sunny then turned very dark and cloudy so ISO setting kept going up and up an up LOL, very grainy pictures. Keep me updated on those Kestrels I want to see photos of the nestlings/fledglings at some stage so keeping my fingers crossed that weather improves and spurs the birds on lol

Mrs K has put in an appearance today....
But no sign of the Gay Lothario or his rival.............hoping for more action later today!!!
She's a stunner, Wendy. Enough to melt the heart of any red blooded male Kesser.
What is the blossom on the tree as a matter of interest?

Sorry TJ - not good at trees - hoping Ian H will tell us!!!
GL has graced us with his presence now - was in the nest hole ditting & calling but no-one came!!! Went outside for a clearer shot but he flew into a tree where I got these...
He left pretty quickly & I am wondering if he was spooked by me - might have to stay behind glass next time!!
Help Claire!!!!!
Cracking photos of Mrs. K Wendy, just love this thread :)
Thanks H - this is what D wanted me to do last year but I didn't know enough to be able to manage it - he does try bless him but it takes me a while to 'slot in' LOL
