The pair showed up on 13th March & were checking out the nest - here's hoping..............
Have posted all I've taken today, unedited, as I'm so excited!!! They both flew off & now Mr Kestrel has returned to nest & sitting, waiting like a spider in the middle of a web! Just going to video him

I think that it might be a Prunus avium - otherwise known as a Bird or wild Cherry.

Thanks Caroline - you are right - I did wonder if it was cherry blossom as there are several trees up the top of the quarry & we get cherry rain later in the year!!
Handsome looking male, Wendy. We need them to get their act together soon - the suspense is killing me.
This is going to be one of the threads of the year I think.

Thanks folks - will be glad to see some sun & warmth so I can take pics from my garden chair!!!
Must be checking nest at least once every half hour - just found this....
Is this a female?? (getting hesitant since my original faux pas!)
Before I could snap any more it flew off & then saw this...
He had been in the nest hole & moved forward as the other one flew away - managed to get vid (although rocky 'cos of broken tripod and also noisy 'cos of house renovations right under the nest!!)...
Wow !! what stunning pics
Well D - if they can carry on regardless given all the noise & disruption maybe I won't need it!! Was thinking of one of those camouflage cover-all thingys - that'll give the neighbours a laugh LOL !!
