Gadwall are often overlooked dabbling ducks and although some think they are rather plain looking, I think they are such handsome birds when seen in detail ..... we are lucky enough to have a drake Gadwall on our local parkland mere so took a few photos this morning of it ........ no sign of any females although a 2nd drake was seen a few days ago.
Angel of the North ? !!
