The pair showed up on 13th March & were checking out the nest - here's hoping..............
Have posted all I've taken today, unedited, as I'm so excited!!! They both flew off & now Mr Kestrel has returned to nest & sitting, waiting like a spider in the middle of a web! Just going to video him

doggie said:are you going to use one thread for posting through the season to keep them in one place so people can see how things progress?
That's a good idea, Alan, then we can follow them right through the breeding season.
Brilliant to see them both again, Wendy. I know I would be thrilled to bits to have a pair nesting on my doorstep. Cracking photos btw.

Well that is the last of any work you are going to get done Wendy, and I third Doggy and TJ suggestion of one thread so we can keep track :)

Thanks all & yes will keep in one place from now on - no more HW (not even dressed yet lol) - here is vid - managed to feed my garden birds while it was uploading (did explain the delay to them of course).....

Fantastic Wendy. I would also love to follow your thread of how they progress

Why did he have to be so nasty to her???
Man said 'treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen' behaviour - don't like it!!
ps vid is a bit all over the shop but I didn't want to edit it!
I wonder what was going on there. Perhaps he hasn't yet accepted her as his partner. Quite aggressive bahaviour.
It does seem as if he doesn't recognise her. Is there another female around ?
She is the only one I've seen this year - there is usually a tussle over the nest & female between a couple of males but not this time it seems. The male has been visiting here since last year & has just taken the nest. Maybe we will have fights to come
Here is another rocky vid but am showing it because there is a lovely view of Mr Kestrel at the beginning...
Gosh ! what amazing video footage Wendy, wonder what happened there for him to react so nastily ? maybe it's not his girl but some other that rather fancies him ..... or did fancy him until he turned on her ! awwwww, poor girl.
