I thought I'd get this one started for the year with a couple of likely lads that got in the fat ball container & then the lid must have fallen back after them! I think they are field (wood) mice.
I released them in the vines & ran home so they couldn't follow me! LOL

awww lovely photo Hazel, they do have cute faces.
Awwww is right, Hazy, and thanks for the thread, Hazel.
Cute little guys.
Slightly larger than a Mouse, but similar in colour.!! :-) You can't miss the distinct white back end of a Roe Deer.
Lovely photos Hazel, now someone was just asking about uses for the
fat ball containers!!!
Good shot Paul, right place right time.
I wonder if the deers white b*m serves the same purpose as a rabbits? It looks very dry there Paul!

Don't know about rabbits but they say a deer flashes the white patch as a scare tactic when threatened. Is that the same?

Thanks
It sounds the same to me, although "distraction" might have been a better term for me to use than "scare".
Thanks for that Hazy, it more or less confirms what my dad told me when I was a nipper. They run straightish & then turn suddenly & the chaser goes straight on still following the line of the white tail! Nature is wonderful isn't it.
