The Island Mere hide was finally open and the grey herons were basking in the attention:
There were other species of heron about, though not yet back to its magnificently pesky self:
At least its heels are clean:
Got to have this cormorant:
A flock of gadwall heralds the end of summer:
One last heron, the Great White!
It's good to be back in this hide.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
