Thanks Hazy :) it's a start.
I'm not an expert either Nick, but I think this might simply be one of our many parasol mushrooms before it opens out fully. I'll check with a colleague later this week

I went to check to if the Fungus was still there today (Wednesday 03th Oct ) it was and you were right it is a Parasol Mushroom. I took another photo of it out full.
