So, we now enter August knowing that we will only have the pleasure of watching this beautiful family all together for a limited number of weeks. Both LP8 and LR0 have transformed into two strong, independent individuals. Their attentive parents have continued to provide for and nurture them and this, in turn, has given the juveniles a basis to continue their growth into full adulthood, wherever they decide to settle during the next couple of years.Last season, NC0 began her southerly migration on the 22nd August; Laddie on the 25th (these dates were their last webcam sightings). We can only hope that all of the 2022 family have safe, unhindered journeys to warmer climes, aided by fair winds as well as an abundance of fish along the way, and that we will welcome Laddie and NC0 back to this stunning Loch of the Lowes location in the spring of 2023.

19:32 Laddie with a HUGE fish - LP8 claimed it initially, once again, BUT was taken by LR0.
NC0 could be seen on the birch throughout this delivery
LR0 was warned off
But he didn't let that stop him from getting underneath LP8 to take the fish
This pose was held for a couple of seconds before LR0 won the fish

20:25 I think LP8 has a long wait ahead!
20:57 LR0 still tucking in (almost an hour and a half into it) while LP8 continues to call for fish. NC0 has remained on the birch
21:11 LP8 couldn't wait any longer and made a successful steal - LR0 had taken a feeding break and was taking in the view at the time!
LR0 still had its talons firmly in the fish as LP8 pulled
21:27 Is LR0 waiting to see if he will get a second chance at the fish? NC0 still on the birch
21:56 LR0 left the nest and landed on the birch. Hmm, that's not NC0 on that branch now and, although she was there earlier, I'm wondering if that other dark 'mark', underneath LR0, is the thick, stringy strand of grass that LP8 took with its fish on the 1st of August and has remained entangled on the branch - it has been noticeable ever since
22:10 After eating some more, LP8 walked away from the fish, made a few contact calls and then flew off, leaving the remains on the nest
LP8 headed low towards the area marked
Morning all,
LR0 was already on the nest perch when LP8 arrived and found the remains of the fish
LP8 ate from it for under 10 minutes then walked away. LR0 took over
LR0 swallowed the tail at 5:18ish
8:00 LP8 waiting quietly on the nest. No fresh fish deliveries or visits from NC0 or Laddie so far
8:29 A crow called very loudly, LP8 sounded off its disapproval
After telling the crow off another time, LP8 flew off the nest
The culprit
The crow must have seen LP8 returning a minute or two after so hopped off the nest..just in time!
'Stay off my nest!'
9:16 LP8 fish calling and it sounds like LR0 is too, on the cam post
Yes, it was. LR0 down to the nest at 9:19
