Mike, here is the intro. Thanks. Karen
Last season Maya, the resident Manton Bay female, surprised us arriving back 12 March the earliest date ever recorded at a UK public nest. The resident male, Blue 33(11), her mate since 2015, arrived two days later on 14 March and the pair successfully raised two healthy chicks. More details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Here’s wishing Maya and Blue 33 a safe journey home and for another successful season.

I have to edit it 3 times, you see - (1) basic cut-out and join if necessary (2) crop to one cam (3) try to intensify quality a little - that last takes quite a while to process, but once it has it uploads much faster to YouTube than any videos not processed by that editor, which is VideoPad free edition.
Maya is now fishless on the nest. What happened to the huge catch? Was it not she who brought it?!
Definitely empty-taloned:
IMAGICAT
Morning Jane - yes I am sure it was Maya. The capture I posted above showing her land with the fish, when enlarged you can see the "X" on the head.
Edit: And I've just watched Scylla's vid - clear "X" - yes IMO, I'd say it is definitely her :-)
Morning Patily - good to be back and also to see you too :-)
Maya has just been doing a little nestkeeping
thinks about it
nest scrape
needs more padding so off she goes
returns a few minutes later with some nesting material
and beds it in
