Mike, here is the intro. Thanks. Karen
Last season Maya, the resident Manton Bay female, surprised us arriving back 12 March the earliest date ever recorded at a UK public nest. The resident male, Blue 33(11), her mate since 2015, arrived two days later on 14 March and the pair successfully raised two healthy chicks. More details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Here’s wishing Maya and Blue 33 a safe journey home and for another successful season.

(I have posted on Non Osprey Chat but I know some do not follow that thread)
Now have two EG's. One has taken to 'nestcupping' in the left hand hollow whilst the second, Male?? sits on the rim above the right hollow.

Good morning, MIKE :) Coincidentally I just did the same snap, brightened:
Quite a bit of freezing going on this morning.
IMAGICAT
Morning All - looks to be a nice morning at Manton but I suspect its windy and quite chilly. I have watched the EG who has been back and forth most of the morning. It really is quite unsettled and at times has been defensive.
(c) Rutland Ospreys It is now settled in the cup, I wonder if it is going to lay an egg? Hope not!
scylla said:First EG on the nest. Can't be bothered to do a snap, you all know what it looks like ;)
Well I'm going to post one just for practice!
Edit: not great quality, is it?
No, Alison, it's not great quality - but I took some snaps on full screen on "this" laptop, which has 3840x2160 resolution, and they looked far from high res. The cams look fine from a distance tho.
Sorry if I have missed this, but what breed of geese are these on the nest?
