Hi,
I visited Leighton Moss yesterday, and the highlight was the sight of the Starlings coming in to roost, awesome, fantastic!! The thing is, I came up from Glossop in Derbyshire on spec, not knowing if I would see them, or how many...
The Leighton Moss webpage ought to be be shouting out about this spectacle, but it remains mysteriously silent on this subject. I can't understand why you should be so coy about what is, to my mind, your best asset during the winter period. On top of this, it wasn't clear what else there was to see, as your regular blogger, Hannah, has moved on and no-one seems to have taken up the banner on her behalf.
So, please make sure that current activity is posted to the site (maybe including tide times, for estuary visits?), I'm sure it'll only increase your visitor numbers.
Cheers, and blow that trumpet!
Pete
Hi Pete,
Thanks for your comments....I agree the starling spectacle is amazing here and I'll look into what else we can do on our website. It is mentioned currently on our winter page www.rspb.org.uk/.../index.aspx
which will be changing very soon. This year they have been spectacular very early on so I will look into whether it is worth including on our Autumn page as well (depends if they are so good in Autumn in other years).
I sent out a media release about them to local media last week and included that on our blog 'fireworks with feathers' in case you fancy reading it.
Beki will be taking over from Hannah very soon...I will do a catch up blog tomorrow-I realise how much recent sightings are enjoyed so watch this space.
Thanks for following us and please do comment with your thoughts :-)
Jen
