I will be departing for Morecambe from Newcastle upon Tyne and staying until Friday the following week and will be visiting Leighton Moss!

I will be departing by train from Newcastle Upon Tyne on Saturday 7th October and staying in Morecambe until the following Friday. I will be visiting Leighton Moss at least twice. Leighton Most was the reserve in the early 1970’s where I had my best ever view of a Bittern as I saw sitting in front of one of the hides for around 30 minutes and very close. I’ve seen Bitterns at various places in the UK, but not as close or for so long as on that occasion Those were the days when you had to apply for permits to visit in advance. I’ve visited Leighton Moss on numerous occasions over the years and looking forward to visiting again!
