Just one more thing is that on my first ever visit to Leighton Moss in 1973 I had my best ever view of a Bittern only 4-5 feet right in front of one of the hides at Leighton Moss and stayed put very close in for around 15 minutes. Although I’ve seen a Bittern at other places in England. I’ve never had such a close up view of a Bittern since that occasion at Leighton Moss in 1973
