I never know that Ann, and I have keeped Ferrets and Polecats in the past.
Thanks Paul.
Interesting, Jim. Must have a chat about Ferrets, etc., when we join the group for the Forumate meet-up in June.
Kind regards, Ann
I spotted a Mink swimming across a bay in Loch Leven last year. I was quite surprised at how large it was, I hadn't seen one for many years.
Gardenbirder said:Should you have a chance to watch a Ferret race, it is likely to be one of the smaller more streamlined females who will win the race
If only there had been two of them and I had this knowledge at the time it could have made for a very exciting encounter. !! ;-)

LOL, Paul! If you see a race at a country fair, etc. you might even win a prize! Of course, I'd require my commission.
I won a Guinea Pig race when I was 7, it was a simple choice of black and white for the colour. I remember the prize was " ten bob" which was a fortune back then although I don't remember seeing the winnings after that day and think it went into housekeeping tin lol I think my brothers and I did get thr'uppence each to spend at the sweet shop on our walk to school the next school day; white chocolate mice, flying saucers, fruit salad and black jacks and penny arrows - hands up who remembers those lol aaahh, the good ole days where there were no computers, geeky toys and only platforms with trains - that did turn up !

Hazel, Thanks for the memories!! Who knew that black and white Guinea Pigs would be fastest?!--lol! I wonder if studies have been done...
Thank you Ann, I sadly could not stay the full day Monday but did get some pictures over the two days.
