There was an old Radio programme from 1990 broadcast yesterday on digital channel Radio 4 Extra called Down Your Way and the subject was about RSPB reserves Leighton Moss and Morcambe Bay and John Wilson was still the head warden of Leighton Moss back then as he had been since that had become an RSPB reserve back in the 1960's. It was a very interesting programme about those two RSPB reserves originally first broadcast in 1990. That programme is now available on the BBC Radio iPlayer catch up on Radio 4 Extra for 28 days. It was broadcast from 2.15pm-3.00pm yesterday.

Down Your Way First broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1990.
Playwright Peter Tinniswood explores the winter wildlife at the RSPB bird reserve on the Lancashire coast.
Down Your Way was one of the BBC's longest-running radio series - starting on the BBC Home Service in 1946 and ending its run on BBC Radio 4 in 1992. Using a variety of hosts, including Richard Dimbleby and Brian Johnston, the programme toured villages, towns and cities across the UK. At the height of its success in the 1950s, the series was attracting 10 million listeners a week.
Playwright Peter Tinniswood continued a prolific writing career until his death in 2003, from cancer, aged 66.

It appears the first 10 minutes or so may be missing. It's described as being 45mins duration but ends after only 36mins. Shame.
