Remote cameras on reserve.

When my husband and myself were walking along one of your paths into the reserve we notice a lot of feathers on the ground and a part eaten bird close by, we then noticed a remote camera fixed to a tree overlooking the scene. If this camera belongs to the reserve will we be able to see what the camera captured sometime.
  • Hi Wendy,

Thanks for your message. The bird that was eaten was a woodpigeon, taken by a sparrowhawk. It was seen by some of our volunteers. Unfortunately the sparrowhawk flew off without the kill so the volunteers put the cameras out later to see if it would come back for the woodpigeon, or if something else entirely would eat it. One of the cameras has so far not shown anything, but when the other comes back in, we may know more - will let you know what is found.

    Best wishes,

    Annabel
