Following on from Doug's mid-October blog post about the barn owl chicks, I thought I'd post this photo I took on Monday, 4th November. I was taking a casual wander around the reserve in the afternoon and stopped at the barn owls sign to see if there was any activity. I was delighted to see a chick clamber out of the nest onto the platform on the front, walk to one end of the platform, then to the other, then climb back into the nest. The zoom on my camera isn't fabulous, so the shot is not as pin-sharp as some you might see on this site!
I meant to say that there was at least one more chick in the nest, although you can't see it in this picture.
Very nice shot. Warm autumn colours and young barn owl, what more could you want.
