Having sat and waited in the Spring Hide today, thinking it was possibly a bad idea to visit with the horrible weather, we were pleasantly surprised by a little visitor, who would possibly have posed for a little longer had it not been for the arrival in the water of a black dog, along with it's owners calling it very loudly.... but I managed to take several photos before it left, and these few are my favourites of this gorgeous bird.
Your photos are beautiful, Demon69! I hope someone official notices your comments about the out of control dog and its owners - what a pity some people are clueless when it comes to controlling their animals.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
What a beauty, Demon69! Thanks for the gorgeous photos! Shame about the dog.
Bob, Ho, ho! Nice cobwebs, aren't they?!
Kind regards, Ann
I have no doubt at all that the black dog in question belongs to the same couple that take it on themselves to walk around the entire reserve during the summer months early in the morning with their dog off a lead......
Take only pictures leave only footprints
Well if I happen to come across them or anyone with a dog off the lead on my travels there I am going to take them to task, there is far too many people that think reserves are some sort of park.
