Birds seen on our trip .

We popped into the Drewer hide , where within seconds the screeching call alerted us to the arrival of the white water rail . Also here reed warblers , reed buntings and yellow hammer and wood pigeons . We then walked to the old pump house on the way we spotted black cap , willow warbler , Chiff chaff , Blue tits . On the right hand side of the path where two stretches of water , here we saw a male kingfisher in tip top condition . We moved off to the mere hide the owl box proved fruitful with one adult sitting inside the box . On arrival at the hide a Hobby was hunting over the mere , a heron sat on a post , on the other a common tern sat . On the water mallard land grey lag geese , the muddy banks were littered with 40 to 50 Lapwing . In the fields Green woodpecker , rooks , crows and col doves overhead flew swallows and swifts . On the whole a good walk and visit .
