Now here's and oddity, and possibly a contender for the worlds smallest garden pond.
A while back I left a small pie dish out on the lawn (don't ask why, I can't remember), after a couple of days it filled with rain water, and was soon occupied by a ............, well see for yourself:-
Obviously I relesed it to a more suitable part of the garden.

hi ND
Well Mr frog has made himself at home no worries there. Cutie pie (pum for the pie dish)
My mother has an old large Shell in her garden, and it has formed into a mini pond too.
It is still water and some Acquatic Wildlife and it seems to come together very quickly.
It is amazing how some still water in a container can become a water wildlife reserve very quickly.
It shows that with a bit of moral support we can make our gardens into a mini wildlife santuary any time we wish for it to happen.

So glad you rescued the poor thing as it doesn't look as if it would have been able to escape from your dish otherwise, but a lovely story, thanks.
Lol! Amazing how they find water like it!

Haha that's cute.
We made a pond out of an old washing bowl one time, that was a pretty small pond!

Makes you wonder how it got in there in the first place..??
And what was it thinking..?
Cute though.
This happened to me too ages ago! OH had to build a pond for me for the frog to live in!
Hello Coral, and welcome to the Forum.
I had to build a small wildlife pond last autumn as I was fed up with the frogs spawning in puddles and bird baths all round the garden.
Just waiting for the ice berg on it to melt now.!
So sweet -I can't wait to see my frogs, I miss them over winter.
Hello Coral, if we find a frog, my husband takes it to a neighbour's pond !
Hello Brenda, my neighbours bring the frogs round to me! I love having them.
