Hello
I need to build some new nest boxes as our current ones have begun to rot. Also, one has been somewhat enhanced by a woodpecker!
RSPB official advice is to use wood which is not CCA treated. However as I understand it CCA is no longer used, and the common wood treatment is Tanalith E.
Should I use untreated wood and paint the outside (e.g. Sadolin) or would the Tanalith E treated wood be safe?
Many thanks

Perfect, many thanks. Our local sawmill sells untreated wood so I'll get some of that.
