hello having had blue tits nesting in my bird box it was getting old so i bought a new bird box and put that up instead, and nothing box is empty for the first
time in years i have no nests in the garden. box was put up just after christmas can someone tell me how long a nest box should be up before i`tll be used.
Hello Paul, welcome to the forum. It can take a bit of time for birds to get used to a new box. Sometimes they use it in the first year, sometimes not. You put it up in good time, in the depths of winter, so that wasn't the problem. You could still get a family, it's not too late.
bye for now
never too late-lol-i put a box up at the end of feburary-didn't really expect any nesters-but to my surprise i got blue tits nesting only month after it was up
