I put up a sparrow terrace last year and had bluetits in one of the 3 compartments.
I never got round to cleaning out the nest but this year sparrows (yay!) have nested in the same compartment.
Is it usual for sparrows to use an old nest or would they have cleared out the old one first!
It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
Just seen this post at the bottom of page 2!

That's a possibility.
The chicks are very noisy at the moment and think they will be fledging soon.
Have noticed quite a big increase in sparrows this year and a drop in starlings (still only May so that could change!).
