Hello,
I have put up a blue tit nest box 2 years ago on a a wall and it was used in it's first year with success. Then last year a pair of blue tits nested but the parents abounded or disappeared leaving the 4 eggs to die in the nest. This year a pair of blue tits are taking far more interest in my neighboors gutter which has a hole in the wall and as a result they completely ignore my nesting box!!!
What can I do about this - my neighboor has become very old and is unable to block the hole and it seems that the blue tits are just days away from starting to create their nest!
Is there anything I can do now as I long to see my blue tits to nest in my nestbox. If it's too late to do anything now what can I do once the breeding season is over would it help to place more nest boxes around my garden?
Also, there are not many cats in my area - just in case anyone is wondering.
Thank you.
