Nest box spring clean?

Hi all. I've had a nest box up for a year and had a blue tit roosting ever night for about 4 months. Should I clean the box out now? I wonder if this would increase the chances of a nest being built? Any advice on cleaning methods if appropriate would be good. Many thanks
