I have a nestbox with camera which was cleaned out after great tits had nested. The empty box is now being used by a male great tit for roosting. Is it recommended to put any material in to make it warmer or 'more comfortable'? If so what?
TedP
Hi Ted and welcome.
Indeed, I did put some nesting material in the box for the rooster only for the rooster to chuck it all out. Since then I haven't put anything in but still get a rooster in each of my camera boxes and also other boxes where there is no camera. The light from the camera gives off small amount of warmth anyway.
Cheers, Linda.

How about a little duvet and a pillow!
(Sorry!)
It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
Hi Ted welcome to the forum from the Irish fraternity ,
Madpenguin you nutter!!!
I saw your reply and have been laughing for 5 minutes !!! I keep getting flash's of the bird pulling the duvet around its neck, that's cheered me up no end LOL

Thanks for the advice, Ted
make sure you dont use a feather pillow, you dont know where the feathers are from, they could be from a sparrowhawk, frighten the daylights out of your resident !!
