sparrow chicks, and a few others :)

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to update everyone on my camera nestbox activities. The sparrows have been feeding the 3 chicks, the last week, and Its surprising how much they have grown in just 7 days. (This is the first time ive had insight into nesting birds).  I have just 1 camera nestbox, and the tv is on as often as possible, I also have sparrows nesting in the soffit, and there are chicks there too.

I have been giving them a helping hand with live mealworms, and they cant get enough of them, think its gonna be an expensive few months for me, because ive started something now LOL.

Thought I'd share a few pics again :)

sparrows, just a few days old:)

.....and again 7 days old. (not a good pic)

Feeding time!!

and a few other garden guests, waiting for mealworms!!

thanks for reading

  • :) cracking stuff.

    You must be chuffed.

It's both what you do and the way that you do it!

Yes the girls are chuffed, they are checking the tv frequently, and they are as surprised as I am at how quick they have grown and changed.

Oh I do hope you get some blue tit chicks, I can only imagine how cute they would be, I bet they will look tiny :)

will you share some pics if you get chicks please LOL

  • Hi Becky,

  • Hi Doggie, andrew and mpiekp

Thanks for your nice comments, and yes I am chuffed, im like  big kid LOL.  Yes andrew I love my camera nestbox, best thing I ever bought, and it was a bargain from Aldi's  for £39.99. They have sold them a few times.

Only thing is, by starting the live worms I am now gonna have to have a constant supply, the sparrows come from nowhere as soon as I go out the back door, waiting for worms, but I dont mind I love feeding the birds :)

    Hi H and thankyou

When I first noticed there were eggs in there I found it hard to peel myself away from the tv, and even more so when they hatched. Im still peeping on them throughout the day, but in the beginning it was VERY addicitve and not a lot of housework got done :)

Same as me, Im new to all this, and I know I have the bonus of the camera, but im sure you will hear the chicks, because if they are anything like the sparrow chicks here, they are constantly chirping
