Last year a pair of blue tits raised a family in our nest box. This year they have been visiting the box with great regularity, both going in and out, but they do not seem to be taking any nesting material in. This has been going on for several days now. Am I just being too impatient. Or is there any other reason. Nothing has changed since last year, and we cleared out the box at the end of the summer.

Ours are trhe same Rosie, in and out and nest pecking, and I know that they(or maybe some other pair, roosted there during winter. So we are either inpatient, or the birds know more about future weather than us?

Thanks Min that is very reassuring. I keep a bird diary and know they started building on 12th April last year, so with all this warm weather I was puzzled as to why they are not getting on with the job!

We have bluetits incubating in all three of our (camera equipped) boxes. Photos and details here: http://www.biggonline.co.uk/
