New nest box

Hi bought a new nest box and put it up on a birch tree on Sunday and on Monday morning two blue tits where checking it out, I know that it will probably take a good 12 months or so before it gets used but it still was so exciting to see a little bird perch on the entrance having a look in, at least they know its there.

They had built a nest but now I see that they've taken it apart, shame

If only I could be free as the birds the places I could visit would be out of this world

  • Hi Polly,

Fingers crossed for you and the Blue Tits Polly.

I put three up at the end of last summer but I dont think I have any takers yet :-(

I managed to photograph some Bullfinches last week in the UK. I was only over for 3 days so a real rush but  managed to get the Bullfinches which made it worth while.

    Andrew :-)

  • Doesn't appear to be any taker's for the box perhaps they were just house hunting and found something better, still there's next year and I will be putting up more boxes in the mean time.

Must just say, yesterday Saturday the 9th my hubby had been gardening and was taking a well earned rest on a lounger, as he sat there a little sparrow perched on the headrest and was looking a hubby's hair  I did wonder if he thought it was nest material lol, the little bird sat there for what seemed like ages and then he flew off.
