Advice on where to buy nesting boxes

Hi, I have just done a bit of re-designing in our front garden and want to encourage some birds into the garden. I was looking at www.gardenloverz.co.uk . They seem to have a large selection of birdboxes under their category birdloverz. Has anybody had any experience of this company? They look to have a good range and currently offering a 10% discount but I like recommendations - Anybody got any. Thanks, S

  • Hi gosteveb

You need look no further than RSPB Shop!!!!!!!.

You could also try other wildlife sites or E-bay. OR why don't you make your own?

    "Birds of a Feather".... ~( :o )

  • Just a bit of a plug that a large range of 'Homes for Wildlife' items, including nestboxes, are now on offer in all RSPB shops, at 10% off the normal price. Grab them now whilst stock lasts!

Reedbed, freshwater scrapes, saltmarsh and wet meadow. Frampton Marsh has it all! Come and pay us a visit soon.

  • Thanks for the information. I found a facebook09 voucher for www.gardenloverz.co.uk that gave me 20%. I ordered a robin and great tit box. They came very quickly and are now installed waiting for their first visitors in Spring.

  • hi gosteveb...

sorry just seen this post, i dont know if you are able, or not or your hubby is but why not look out for a old pallet that may be disgarded somewhere, with one you could made a far flew nest boxes like i do... if i see a old wooden pallet lieing around a leave it afew days and if i still see it there i got with a hammer and crowbar pull it apart and use the wood to make the above nest boxes which i then pass on to friends or let the lotal wildlife centre sell them and keep the cash themselfs

    Kes.

    Hi Gosteveb

We also make our own nest boxes, it much more rewarding to see birds nesting in the box you make.

But saying that I went to aldi  today and got a camera box for £39.99, will be putting it up tomorrow.

I will have two camera boxes now, this one I will set up for robins or tits.

Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
