Every morning for the past 2 weeks we have heard, what I think is Blue Tits tapping inside the box.
I have had this box for at least 10 years now and it has moved house with me. The box has always been on the side of our property so we have heard this noise for many years. Every year but one we have had blue tits nest in the box.
What are they doing and is tit likely that it is the birds that are hoping to nest in the box?
Hi J
A warm welcome to the Community from me. :-)
I would think that it is a blue tit checking out your nest box, to decide if it will be a suitable place for it to nest in.
Male blue tits often roost in nest boxes, and when they pair up they take their female to see their roosting box to see if the female chooses it as the nest site.
There is a recent thread on this subject. I think that Sparrow replied to it last time
Best wishes Chris
