this is my firsttime of posting. it will soon be time to put up nest boxes and as i have just had windows replaced from leaded to clear, i will be able now to see the birds and get some un obscured shots. was thinking of putting them(the nest boxes) under the eves where i can see them and they be reasonably safe from preditors?
Hi, welcome to the forum!
Nestboxes should be placed where there's enough shelter, safe from predetors and few feet off the ground. It' nice to be able to see it but make sure that they won't be put off by constant activity in the house. I'd put it up quickly, as the general rule for putting boxes up is to do it in Autumn so that birds have enough time to get used to them, but putting it now is better than not putting it up!

Hi and welcome
As tern says the sooner you put them up the better. Before you do, however, I would advise that you read the RSPB page about nest boxes. There's some good advice about what types to use and where to site them.
