I have an established bird box frequently used by blue tits and I am now looking to put a second box up. Should there be a minimum distance apart ??
I think it is as well to place them as far apart as possible but I am not aware of a stipulated minimum distance. It depends on what resources are available for the birds in your garden and what bird the second nest box is designed for. There is a link here from the RSPB:
