Hi all, we have a bird nest box and have put a camera in it. It has a 25mm plate on the hole as we used to get Blue Tits nesting in an old box before it rotted.
This box has never had any birds nesting in it as yet but I think we have interest from a Great Tit. My question is should we take the 25mm plate off the front to make the hole larger or will this bird now not bother to check out the box again?
We were hoping for Blue Tits but are excited to see any bird nest. I have seen a Blue Tit in the garden last week and there were also Coal tits in the garden last year.
Thank you for any help.
Hi Yakitty, sorry no one has replied, quiet on here just now, I would say yes, Great Tit, you can just see the black chest bar. I would say leave the hole as it is and you may have Blue Tits this year. Can you put up a box with a bigger hole for the great Tits.
