The pair of bluetits have built 2 nests side by side in a sparrow terrace box. The female has remained in both nests for 4 weeks now. She only appears when the male brings her food. After observing them for some while the female goes in and out of the different comparments. Only yesterday she brought in fresh nest material. I have no cameras installed. Would like to know what could be going on. Has the bird simply got mixed up with all the entrance holes(3) to different comparments. What are the chances of chicks appearing at this late stage. What the latest if any could any eggs hatch. Help needed
Hi madness
Only just seen this post!
Since that was a month ago can you let us know what the outcome was?
I also thought I had 1 pair of bluetits in 2 separate boxes but in the end I discovered I actually had 2 separate pairs. All chicks (except one) successfully fledged.

It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
The blue tits left the box over a month ago. Still do not know what has gone on in the box, only that no birds fledged. i am expecting to find eggs or dead chicks will let you know what happens.
Me too. They often disappear off the page so quick Madness. If you peep in please update.
An optimist sees the beauty of the complete rose.A pessimist sees only the thorn .
The chicks may have fledged,I know I did not see the chicks from my 2 boxes go but did see one small chick in the garden later.
Please let us know what you find.
