You put up a sparrow terrace, and this happens...!
A closed mouth gathers no foot.
Hi Maisie
Great picture!
Last year I put up a Swift nest box and within 24 hours a pair of Tree Sparrows had moved in and then went on to raise three broods - no signs of them this year though - sadly. Just shows nature is full of suprises.

That nest box hole looks as though it might be quite a squeeze for a bluetit - we always use 28mm for bluetits, although the RSPB suggests 25mm. I wonder if sparrows tried to go in, but found it too small?
Hi Maisie what a fantastic picture! I have several nest boxes [some being used] in my garden but have never seen a sparrow terrace, hope you don't mind me asking where you bought it or was it made for you? I would love to have one.
I honestly can't remember where we got it from. it's been up for a number of years but this is the first time anyone's bothered nesting in it. There are plenty of garden centres and websites that sell them though.
